For the second year in a row, the winner of the ugliest loss award goes to the New England Patriots. It’s hard to estimate how bad this loss was for New England, but we’ll try anyway. The Patriots’ 34-0 setback against the Saints was:
- Worst home shutout loss in Patriots history
- The first consecutive 30-point losses for the Patriots since 1970
- Second-worst loss of Bill Belichick’s career (his biggest was last week against the Cowboys)
- Biggest shutout loss AND biggest home loss of Belichick’s career
Additionally, the Patriots have been outscored 72-3 in their last two games. One piece of news that probably won’t surprise anyone is that the Patriots get an “F” this week. However, the Patriots weren’t the only team to receive an “F.” The Cowboys also got one after they were destroyed on “Sunday Night Football.”
