The weather won’t be the best in the first weekend of November and rain is expected on both Saturday and Sunday, but Rome doesn’t stop at bad weather and offers a weekend full of events for all tastes and ages.
The coming weekend will be a turning point: on the one hand, the last events of a Halloween that lasts until Sunday are coming up, but on the other hand, the first Christmas decorations and events are already coming up, which are still a long way off, but ultimately not so much anymore. Then space for markets, street food, theater performances, for a weekend full of culture, fun and taste.
Here are 10 events that RomaToday proposes for Saturday November 4th and Sunday November 5th:
Free museums
On Sundays you can return to the museum for free. On November 5th, the first Sunday of the month, in the capital you can, as usual, visit the rooms of the museum system of the capital Rome and some archaeological areas of the city for free. These include the sacred area of Largo Argentina, the archaeological area of Circus Maximus and the Imperial Forums. The state museums in Rome and its province are also open free of charge: the Castel Sant’Angelo, the Museo Etrisco di Villa Giulia, the Villa Adriana and the Villa d’Este, to name just a few, because the list is really long. An anthology of around 300 works, including the now iconic Hand with Reflecting Ball (1935), Bond of Union (1956), Metamorphosis II (1939), Day and Night (1938), the famous Emblemata series and many others. In addition, to enhance the exhibition tour, there is also a reconstruction of the studio that Escher had in Baarn in Holland.
