Numerous events not to be missed during the weekend between Pisa and its province, including excursions, fairs, guided tours, theatrical performances and concerts. Here are some suggestions on where to spend the days of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May.




Saturday 13 May marks the usual appointment with the European Night of Museums, an initiative launched under the auspices of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and ICOM to reinforce Europe’s cultural identity. For the occasion, numerous museums will open their doors to the public, including those of the University Museum System of the University of Pisa with exceptional openings and free guided tours.




On the stage of the Teatro Nuovo in Pisa, the most famous and most frequently performed piece by Bertolt Brecht: “The Threepenny Opera”. Double appointment on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May at 9.30 p.m. with the adaptation of Brecht’s work by Riccardo Monopoli in a new production of Binario Vivo and Con-form. On stage Ervis Bakanaci, Laura Boriassi, Andrea Di Silvio, Zeno Franceschi, Elena La Malfa, Matteo Martorana, Francesco Pelosini, Tommaso Pettinati, Arianna Ricciardi, Leonardo Suppa and Carlotta Zanaboni.




Sunday May 14th: guided tour of the walls of Pisa to admire their structure and architecture and to discover the stories of leaders, nobles and citizens. The route takes place on foot and takes about two and a half hours.




On Saturday May 13 at 5 p.m. the review “Pur bella la vita” continues, organized by the EX Allievi Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna association. You can chat with Federico Maria Sardelli, who has been one of the liveliest and most interesting figures in Italian culture for years.




On Sunday, May 14, at 11 a.m., the last date of the review of 20th century literature will take place in the Palazzo Blu. The protagonist will be the writer Mario Rigoni Stern, starting with his most famous novel “The Sergeant in the Snow”. deal with the texts of other authors.
