The anticipation of the pop star was so great that Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey officially renamed the city “Swiftsburgh.”

Countless fans are flocking to the Golden Triangle for two shows that many have been waiting for since the concert tour was announced over seven months ago.

On Friday, KDKA-TV spoke to fans in Ohio, West Virginia, New Hampshire and Utah. Many said they would start crying or pass out when Swift took the stage.

All weekend long, only mobile tickets are accepted at the gate. So be sure to download these to your digital wallet before heading to the North Shore. As this is a cashless event, make sure you have a debit or credit card handy.

Pittsburgh Public Safety says it is prepared for an “unprecedented” number of people coming to the city for the two shows, and the events are expected to generate millions of dollars in revenue for the city.

But before Swift took the stage, she donated an undisclosed amount to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

“We are so grateful to Taylor Swift for working with us to support people in our region who are struggling with food insecurity. Your donation will ensure thousands of our neighbors have the food they need to thrive,” said President and CEO Lisa Scales.
