Wendy Williams claims to be returning to her daytime talk show

How are you, Wendy?

Wendy Williams curiously stated on Good Morning America that she was set to return to her daytime talk show of the same name, despite Sherri Shepherd having already been named as her successor.

“Here’s what I’d like to say to my Wendy watchers: keep watching because I’m going to be back on The Wendy Show bigger and brighter than ever,” said Williams, who declined to appear on camera for a chat. morning show in a phone interview.

Given the wild claim, Page Six reached out to the show’s spokesperson for comment, who cited a Debmar-Mercury February press release announcing Shepherd’s new talk show “Sherri.”

A source close to the production company also told us that Debmar-Mercury is “100% committed” to this fall’s Shepherd show, securing slots with Fox and developing plans to expand to other groups of stations.

Our insider added that if and when the company feels that Williams is ready to return to a daily live show, Debmar-Mercury will support her, but this will certainly not happen in three months, since all the places in the company are filled.

What makes the statement even stranger is the fact that Williams’ personal rep, Howard Bragman, previously said that the shock jock “understood” why Shepard took over her duties.

“She understands the reality of syndicated television better than anyone else – you can’t go to the market and sell the Maybe Wendy Show show,” Bragman said.
