Were working to resolve it quickly says Streamer Deadline

“We’re working to resolve it quickly,” says Streamer

TO UPDATE: Just before 9 p.m. Pacific time, the service appeared to be back up and working.

BEFOREHAND: An outage hit Hulu this afternoon, with users across the country reporting that the Disney streamer is down and/or unable to access the service.

“We are aware of a technical issue affecting Hulu,” the company said in a statement. “We are working on a quick solution.” There was no estimate of when the issues might be fixed.

A note posted at the top of the Hulu Help Center site this afternoon reads, “Playback unavailable? We are investigating the issue with the highest priority and hope to get it working again soon. Thank you for your patience!”

In contrast, the official The Hulu support Twitter page did not address the outage. In fact, it hasn’t been updated since August 9, 2021.

Subscribers posted comments on the top (and unrelated) post on the service’s Facebook page. Among them was a complaint that the NBA playoffs were happening – which they are – and “This service is way too expensive to have these kinds of problems.” There were people complaining about outages in Alabama, Montana, Nebraska, Massachusetts , Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, Arizona and many other states complained.

According to real-time outage tracking site DownDetector, users began reporting problems with Hulu just before 5 p.m. PT, and #huludown was trending on Twitter about 90 minutes later.
