“We started an allfemale band in the 1980s, there weren’t many female percussionists. We called Mônica Millet, who was the only drummer there was, but Mônica was doing a show with Maria Bethânia, so the option was to call a man. Then someone spoke of a boy who was 17 years old and then came Carlinhos Brown,” he said.

Carlinhos Brown took the opportunity to recall the beginning of his career alongside Ione, an important figure on his path: “And then we started bright ways, we took part in great festivals in schools and made real developments.
