Sporting Crystal garnered his second consecutive defeat in the Libertadores Cup after losing 4-2 to River Plate at Argentina’s Monumental. The Rimense team partially equalized the game at the end of the first half, playing with another player in the supplementary phase. He didn’t take advantage of that advantage, however, and the millionaire team far outstripped him. One of the players who took the field in the supplement was Irven Ávila.
The DT Tiago Nunes decided the ‘Cholito’ to step in in the 59th minute from Rafael Lutiger with the aim of increasing the offense and exploiting another player. However, at 64′, just 6 minutes after entering the field, he was substituted by João Grimaldo.
The reason for this quick change was that the sky-blue attacker felt some discomfort after a clash with a River Plate player. The 32-year-old striker spoke on his arrival in Peru about what had happened and how he felt after the tough defeat in Argentina.
“You will certainly do an MRI today and see what happened to me. Actually there is an argument, personally uncomfortable, upset with myself, but later I’m calm because of what the team once showed,” he told the Movistar cameras Sport.

All indications are that “Cholito” is not yet fully recovered from the elbow dislocation he sustained in the Peruvian tournament’s La Liga 1 match against Atlético Grau.
