The Gallagher company will present the results of a study on the labor market outlook for 2024 on Tuesday as part of the Canadian Trends Tour.

In an interview with LCN, Gallagher’s regional managing director, Nathalie Francisci, provided an overview of the data and forecasts presented.

“A priori we expect salary increases of 3.7 or 3.8% for 2024,” she stated.

Ms. Francisci states that this is an average and that the percentage of your salary increase will vary depending on the region in which you work, your profession and the economic sector in which you operate.

“There may be industries that go beyond that, maybe even to 4%,” she adds.

When it comes to social benefits, the trend will be towards flexibility, says Nathalie Francisci.

“Today we find ourselves in a business context where we have never experienced anything like this – we have been talking about it for ten years, but here we are really experiencing it – with a mix of generations within the same company or even from the same team.”, where you are 20 – or have 25-year-olds on your team and someone who may even be 70,” she explains.

Companies will be challenged to provide a collective response to employee needs, which often vary greatly from worker to worker.

Teleworking is a real problem for many companies and will continue to be very present, predicts the company’s regional manager Gallagher, who assumes that the average worker will only spend two or three days a week in the office.

While many bosses want their employees to return to the office, Ms. Francisci notes that many workers do not support the idea of ​​ending telecommuting.

“What people want is flexibility. Flexibility means that I don’t want to come on mandatory days. I want to come if it makes sense for me, my team and my boss. If I come to the office and spend my day in virtual meetings, it makes no sense at all,” she claims.
