A strange glowing object resembling a meteor has caught the fascination of several Quebec netizens.

The rocky object is said to have crossed the sky around 10:15 p.m. on Friday.
Hundreds of people across the province took to social media to say they saw what appears to be a meteor.
Several of them claim to have seen a mass of people go by at full speed. A streak of blinding light followed, varying in color from blue to orange depending on where it was seen.
The phenomenon would also have been visible in Ontario and the United States.

Just in time for International Asteroid Day, the celestial body observed in North America entered the earth’s atmosphere.
The aim of this day, approved by the United Nations, is to raise awareness among the earth’s population of the risks associated with asteroids.
This global event was created to commemorate the anniversary of the largest man-made meteorite disaster. On June 30, 1908, a mass of rock caused the so-called Tunguska explosion.
The phenomenon, which occurred in Siberia, released energy 1,000 times greater than the atomic bomb that fell on Hiroshima some 37 years later. The explosion burned several dozen kilometers of surrounding forest for weeks. The sound of the impact was heard over 1,500 km away.
