WhatsApp On Android: How To Avoid Paying For Google Drive To Save Your History?

Google will now count your WhatsApp history in the storage space allocated to you on OneDrive. If you don’t have enough storage space on your main account, you can always use a secondary account dedicated exclusively to your WhatsApp conversations.

1. Go to WhatsApp Settings

Open WhatsApp on your Android smartphone and tap the buttonOptions is displayed at the top right of the screen. Then go to Settings of the application.

2. Change backup options

Now go to the menu Discussions and access the menu Backup Discussions displayed at the bottom of the screen. Then press Google accountand then select in the popup that appears Your secondary Google account (if it is already configured on your Android smartphone), or select Add an account.

Once your brand new secondary account is selected, click the button For protection. If you haven’t already, be sure to configure how often you want to save your history. To do this, go to the section Back up to Google Driveand then select the frequency of your backups.

Remember that every time you configure WhatsApp on a new Android smartphone, you must be careful to select the Google account to use to save your history. Otherwise, you won’t be able to find your conversations and the data they contain.
