When Matthew Perry died he had no fentanyl or methamphetamine

Matthew Perry’s death was not caused by a fentanyl or methamphetamine overdose. It is the result of the first tests carried out on the body of the Friends actor, who died on Saturday at the age of 54 at his home in Los Angeles. According to the American portal TMZ, it can now be ruled out that the cause of death was the abuse of this type of drug.

This result was known before the autopsy was completed. The actor’s investigations are ongoing and it is still not possible to know whether the death was caused by the use of other drugs, whether he took a fatal amount of drugs or whether the cause was something else. To get clearer data, we have to wait for the autopsy report, which could take between four and six months to arrive.

More information

No illegal substances were found in the actor’s home on the day of his death and any medications found had been regularly prescribed to him and were stored in the appropriate containers. Those close to the interpreter assured that, although it was known that he had repeatedly suffered from addiction problems, he was now sober and well.

Shortly before he was found dead in his hot tub, he had been exercising and asked his assistant to run some errands for him. He was found drowned, but autopsy results were inconclusive, the medical examiner’s office said. Currently, police are not ruling out any hypothesis in the investigation into his death.
