After launching the PlayStation VR2 in early 2023, Sony is preparing to launch a new accessory for its PS5 in late 2023. From November 15th, thanks to this accessory, it will be possible to play remotely at home without any worries.

PlayStation Portal: to play the PS5 anywhere at home

First of all, it is very important to know that the PlayStation Portal is not a gaming console, but an accessory that allows you to play the PS5 remotely. In other words, an accessory that allows you to stream your PS5 to a second screen for gaming anywhere near your PS5 console.

For example, if the TV in the living room is unavailable because your companion is watching TV, simply turn on your PS5, connect to your PlayStation Portal and play PS5 on your accessory.

So to use the PlayStation Portal you must have a PS5. This accessory is therefore limited to being a remote playback device for PS5 games. Likewise, it is not possible to play with your PlayStation Portal outside of your console (on the subway, at work, etc.).
