Where do the migrants from Roxham Road come from?

The number of migrants taking Roxham Road exploded in Quebec in 2022 after a slowdown during the two years of the pandemic. About 39,675 migrants crossed the border overland to seek asylum in Quebec, or 43% of all asylum seekers in Canada. Before the 2019 pandemic, that number was much lower at 16,660. Men, women and children from all over the world sometimes traveled thousands of miles to reach the Canadian border.
