Manoel Gomes, the singer from Maranhão, known for the hit “Caneta azul”, surprised people by showing off his new home in Alphaville, São Paulo, and celebrating the purchase of a Range Rover worth R$650,000. These latest investments represent a turning point in the life of the artist, who last year accused former managers of an alleged financial fraud estimated at around R$1 million.
The increase in Manoel Gomes' wealth is linked to the success of his music and advertising campaigns, which have become significant sources of income for him. He recently released the song “Lá ele” with singer Tierry, which reached more than 72 million views on YouTube.
In collaboration with Tierry, Manoel toured the United States last year and released a new album entitled “Manoel Gomes, Blue Pen”, which contains 27 tracks, some of which are already known, such as “Maura”, “Eu vai cessa de ser beasta” and, of course, “Blue Pen.”
Amid his success, Manoel Gomes found himself in controversy when he reported the embezzlement of around R$1 million from his bank accounts, which was attributed to his former managers. The singer's defense, represented by lawyer João Nascimento, presented significant evidence of extortion and misappropriation of fees, including the analysis of advertising contracts from the last four years.
In 2022, Manoel Gomes ran for the seat of state representative in his hometown and declared before the electoral court an asset of R$ 542,615.25, consisting of a house, a car, a motorcycle, investments and share capital of a company called “MJ Gomes”.
With more than 6 million followers on Instagram, the singer was hired by SBT as a reporter for the Circo do Tiru program in Tirullipa and received a monthly salary of R$50,000.
The new mansion in Alphaville represents a milestone in the life of Manoel Gomes, who shared details including rooms, swimming pool, suites and an outdoor gourmet area. The artist expressed his satisfaction and emphasized the importance of living with his son in the upscale region of São Paulo, highlighting elements reminiscent of his rural origins in Balsas, Maranhão.
