Where is Scared Of The Dark filmed?

Channel 4’s new reality show Scared Of The Dark aired for the first time on Sunday – and viewers were shocked at the show’s novel format.

The bizarre program, hosted by Danny Dyer, sees celebrities live together in total darkness for eight days.

The contestants, which include Love Island’s Chris Eubank and Chloe Burrows, will have to stay in close proximity for the duration of their time on the show.

But it’s not just that simple – each star must complete a series of challenges to stay on the show.

To leave, they can simply yell “I’m afraid of the dark!” and they will be rescued from darkness and led into the light.

The Scared Of The Dark bunker is located at Cardington Studios near Bedford.

The studios are part of the Cardington Airship Sheds, which were originally part of the Cardington airfield during World War I.

The bunker in the second hangar is a purpose-built warehouse that shields all light and is equipped with 50 infrared cameras.

The show’s location has four separate 430,000-square-foot production units, which Danny Dyer described to Reality Titbit as a “big, crazy studio.”

The second shed was also recently leased to Warner Bros. and was used to film scenes from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Inception.

It has a long media history, from being used to film scenes from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 1968 to appearing in Rihanna’s Shut Up And Drive music video.

What has happened so far?

On Sunday’s opening episode of Scared Of The Dark, viewers slammed Chris Eubank for being “boring and weird” – but praised the “hilarious” Chloe Burrows.

Former boxer Chris, 56, chided his competitors for swearing and said his potty-mouthed companions should avoid swear words to “make their parents proud”.

In the first episode, Chloe Burrows, 27, couldn’t stop screaming and cursing as she was plunged into the pitch black darkness.

Viewers were quick to note the reality star’s hilarious reaction to the challenge as she entered the bunker, especially when she met fellow competitor and boxer Chris Eubank.

Chloe looked visibly confused as they met each other upon finding out about Chris’ bizarre conversations.

She later broke down in tears as she faced the first challenge with Donna Preston.

She had to run through a series of doors when a creepy figure chased her around to win food for her competitors.

But before the challenge, she panicked a lot and pulled out at the last minute as she kept crying.
