The Dakar Rally is back. The 2024 edition of the world's most demanding competition will once again see hundreds of pilots from around the world compete against the extreme heat and dry dunes of the Saudi Arabian desert, where the event has been held for almost half a decade. The start will take place this Friday, January 5, and the Argentine participants will be present to claim glory in the categories of cars, motorcycles, quads and more. Where to watch the 2024 Dakar Rally in Argentina?
In Argentine territory, the ESPN 2 signal will be responsible for broadcasting all the events of the 2024 Dakar Rally with daily summaries starting at 8:00 p.m. These highlights will also be available on the Star Plus streaming platform.
Who are the Argentines at the Dakar 2024?
A total of 20 Argentines will compete in the 2024 Dakar Rally, with brothers Kevin (current champion) and Luciano Benavides standing out in the motorcycle category. Among the cars, Juan Cruz Yacopini stands out, finishing third in the 2023 World Championship; while Manuel Andújar and Francisco Moreno in the Quad promise to fight back. Which Argentines will not take part in the 2024 Dakar Rally?
There will be important Argentine absences in this edition of the Dakar Rally: Orly Terranova, Juan Manuel Silva and Sebastián Halpern will not be in cars; In the quads we will not see Carlos Verza or Pablo Copetti and in the motorcycles Franco Caimi will not take part.

When does the Dakar 2024 start?
It will take place on Friday, January 5th Dakar Rally 2024 with the prologue consisting of a 30 km time trial that will determine the starting order of the different participants in all categories. 12 stages are ridden in 13 days (stage 6 lasts 48 hours) and there is a rest day on January 13th. Arrival at the finish is scheduled for January 19th.
