OL Christopher Otto to: State of Florida
Why?: Eliminating an official visit to Penn State in January pretty much completed that for FSU, in my estimation. Sneaky for the ‘Noles, Otto has some work to do but a lot of perks.
WR Andy Jean to: Florida
Why?: This doesn’t feel like a one-hit recruit, even if the FSU gets the final OV. Trust from UF and lack of trust from FSU leads me to believe that Jean is sticking to his UF promise.
DL Keldric Faulk to: Auburn
Why?: This is a coin toss as I write this Tuesday night. Auburn made a late push, and Faulky — at least — responded. He appears to have rightly been conflicted, which is a great sign for Auburn as it has caused him to reconsider his long-standing promise to FSU.
I think the FSU got pretty much everything right here. If Faulk goes to Auburn, he just really wants to go to Auburn. Not sure what else can be done.
LB Kamren Robinson to: Virginia
Why?: I have the crystal ball on FSU and I cannot change it. That choice was made when Robinson visited FSU without informing Virginia staff, but the journey to FSU wasn’t smooth and I think his mother pushed him to stay close to home. Virginia’s late court press looks set to pay off.
DB Damari Brown to: Miami
Why?: His older brother, Vomtae Brown, chose Miami. An interesting pick as he has limited time to improve his game for the NFL and Miami had one of the worst pass defenses in the country last year.
With older brother in the herd I guess Damari Brown will follow. Different things are important to different people, and I think there are aspects of playing for Miami that appeal to both Browns. Big win for Miami if it stays that way.
DB Conrad Hussey to: State of Florida
Why?: That recruitment was all over the place, but I’m pretty sure it would be FSU for Hussey if he made his pick Tuesday at 9 p.m. We’ll see what happens when he wakes up, but FSU made a strong push late in the process.
ATH Edwin Joseph to: State of Florida
Why?: Louisville, Penn State and Miami have all run on Joseph. My thought is that FSU has done enough to fend them off and will seal a recruitment they have been leading for at least the last month or so.
