In Austria, the situation for the krona has greatly improved. All measures must therefore come to an end by June 30 at the latest. But what about Corona rules in other European countries?
In many European countries, no measures have been in place for a long time – in others there are still some rules to be observed.
These corona rules still apply in some European countries
At the BELGIUM the mask requirement continues to apply in medical facilities, i.e. in hospitals, doctors’ offices and pharmacies. Masks have not been used on public transport since May last year.
BULGARIA it has the lowest vaccination rate in the EU, but there have been no mandatory corona measures since November 2022.
DENMARK already suspended measures to combat the virus a year ago.
Germany lifts corona mask requirement on long-distance transport
GERMANY will lift the mask requirement on long-distance transport from Thursday after nearly three years. In half of the German federal states, the obligation to transport them in regional transport was no longer applicable. Visitors to hospitals, nursing homes and doctors’ offices must wear an FFP2 mask by April 7 and also present a negative test in hospitals and nursing homes.
FINLAND followed the Danish example soon after, as did ICELAND, NORWAY and SWEDEN.
At the FRANCE there is no longer a mask requirement. Healthcare facilities may, however, enforce this on their own. Isolation of people with a positive corona test was also abandoned.
Masks are still mandatory on public transport in Greece
At the GREECE A mask must still be worn in public transport and medical facilities. As announced by the union of train and bus drivers, one in three passengers does not comply. Anyone who does not wear a mask has to pay a fine of 300 euros. But this has not been checked for a long time.
At the Great Britain and IRELAND no more corona rules.
Italy suspended almost all measures against the crown
ITALY raised almost all measurements in public space. In local and long-distance transport, as well as in gastronomy, the mandatory mask has not been in force for a long time. Only health professionals will have to wear masks until the end of April this year. As of June 2022, travelers from abroad no longer need proof of vaccination or a negative test.
At the NETHERLANDS no more corona rules.
At the POLAND masks are mandatory in medical facilities. The regulation will initially be in effect until the end of March this year. The use of a mask on public transport has long ceased to be mandatory.
Portugal lifted the mask requirement in late summer 2022
PORTUGAL lifted the mask requirement in almost all areas in late summer last year. Mask wearing is only mandatory in medical facilities and nursing homes.
At the SWITZERLAND no more corona regulations. The mask requirement on public transport ended in April 2022. However, individual cantons can still impose measures for events if they deem it necessary.
Spain will abolish mandatory use of masks on public transport next week
SPAIN abolishes mask requirement on public transport next week. The number of new infections has been stable at a low level for months. The country was particularly hard hit by the pandemic in early 2020. That’s why the government has been extremely cautious about relaxing the rules. It was only a year ago that the outdoor mask requirement was abolished. A mask must still be worn in medical facilities.
At the CZECH REPUBLIC Corona regulations no longer apply. The mask requirement on public transport fell in April 2022. However, Covid-19 remains a notifiable disease. If an infection is proven, authorities order a seven-day home isolation.
At the TURKEY there are no more actions.
At the HUNGARY all measures have already been lifted in March 2022.
