Strictly’s Amanda Abbington once again hit back at reports of a feud with pro partner Giovanni Pernice as they hit the dance floor for the show’s first live episode on Saturday.
The 49-year-old actress described the 33-year-old dancer as “a little brother” in the recorded VT and said she “already loves him” before admitting she didn’t “get things as quickly as she wanted to.” during rehearsals.
The first live show saw all 15 couples perform for the first time, with Nigel Harmon and Katya Jones topping the leaderboard with 32 points and Les Dennis and his partner Nancy Xu bringing up the rear with a disappointing 16 points.
Earlier on Saturday, Amanda shared a video on Instagram in which she dismissed rumors of clashes with Giovanni in a foul-mouthed tirade.
It appears she was “shocked” by his “militant and aggressive” training style and tensions between the two escalated.

The actress was supported in the audience by her fiancé Jonathan Goodwin and her 17-year-old son Joe, whom she shares with her ex-partner Martin Freeman.
Jonathan was left paralyzed for life in a tragic accident in October 2021 after attempting to escape a straitjacket while suspended upside down 30 feet in the air.
Former EastEnders actor Nigel, 50, was tipped to be the early favorite to win the show and was declared “the one to beat” by judge Shirley Ballas after he pulled off an outstanding pasodoble with dance partner Katya Jones.
The Casualty star danced to Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and received universal praise from all four judges, receiving a score of 32 out of 40.

However, the Welsh dragon is still an integral part of the Strictly family, as fans have spotted him in the 2023 titles, which introduce all the couples at the start of each show alongside the recognizable theme music.
And fans have now flocked to show their support for the star, taking to Twitter to send her their well wishes.
One fan wrote: “God bless you Amy.” You’re missing this year. Get well soon, we wish you to get better and become your beautiful self again.

While Amy attended the National Television Awards with her Strictly co-stars, she was unable to attend the episode of the launch show which aired last week.

Jeff raised Bobby and his 19-year-old brother Freddie as a single father after their mother Jade Goody tragically died of cervical cancer in 2009.
The Big Brother star died aged just 27, leaving behind Bobby and Freddie, who were just four and five at the time.

The iconic couple opened the show by introducing the 15 celebrities and their couples who hit the dance floor together during the first week of the competition.
However, things won’t get too real too quickly as all couples will make it to the second week of the show, with the first vote taking place next Sunday.
