Which feud? Strictly Come Dancing’s Amanda Abbington lovingly describes pro partner Giovanni Pernice “like a little brother” after she hit back at claims she “threatened to quit” during the series’ first live show.

Strictly’s Amanda Abbington once again hit back at reports of a feud with pro partner Giovanni Pernice as they hit the dance floor for the show’s first live episode on Saturday.

The 49-year-old actress described the 33-year-old dancer as “a little brother” in the recorded VT and said she “already loves him” before admitting she didn’t “get things as quickly as she wanted to.” during rehearsals.

The first live show saw all 15 couples perform for the first time, with Nigel Harmon and Katya Jones topping the leaderboard with 32 points and Les Dennis and his partner Nancy Xu bringing up the rear with a disappointing 16 points.

Earlier on Saturday, Amanda shared a video on Instagram in which she dismissed rumors of clashes with Giovanni in a foul-mouthed tirade.

It appears she was “shocked” by his “militant and aggressive” training style and tensions between the two escalated.

At the start of the episode, fans showered Amy Dowden with support after she was absent from the show as she is currently undergoing chemotherapy to battle breast cancer.

Another commented: “Sad Amy Dowden can’t be on this series of #Strictly – she’s always been one of my favorites and will be again! Good luck to her.”

And it seems the performance touched the heart as Bobby’s father Jeff Brazier shed a tear at the end of the performance.

As he stood to accept the judges’ comments, Tess pointed to the father in the audience, who was visibly overcome with emotion after seeing his eldest son.

Jeff raised Bobby and his 19-year-old brother Freddie as a single father after their mother Jade Goody tragically died of cervical cancer in 2009.

The Big Brother star died aged just 27, leaving behind Bobby and Freddie, who were just four and five at the time.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman led the evening as they entered the ballroom in black and white coordinated outfits.

Appearing on stage on the BBC show, the pair kept it classy by ditching their glamorous dresses in favor of an androgynous look.

Tess accentuated her size with a pair of black PVC pants, which she paired with an open-collared white shirt.

The 54-year-old completed the outfit by placing a loose black tie around her neck while her blonde waves cascaded over her shoulders.

The 51-year-old flashed a black lace top underneath her shirt and added a pop of color with some red lipstick.

The iconic couple opened the show by introducing the 15 celebrities and their couples who hit the dance floor together during the first week of the competition.

However, things won’t get too real too quickly as all couples will make it to the second week of the show, with the first vote taking place next Sunday.
