During his podcast, which aired Tuesday, TV and radio host Craig Carton envisioned the possibility of seeing the San Francisco 49ers attempt the big shot. “In talks, there have been several third-round picks in this year’s auction and a first-round pick next year,” he said during The Carton Show.
Also, in 2023, the Niners have three third-round picks but none in the first round. The club intends to allow Trey Lance and Brock Purdy to compete for the No. 1 pivot position but there is still uncertainty over certain aspects and if anything goes wrong a veteran like Rodgers would be a viable solution.
“Lance is coming back from a broken ankle [subie lors de la deuxième semaine de la dernière campagne] and Purdy won’t kick a ball until August or September. And they had to bring Sam Darnold. They don’t currently have a quarter that deserves the name,” the host reflected.
Still, Rodgers has already expressed a desire to wear the Jets uniform in 2023, as he mentioned in March. There has been some speculation that a second-round pick will be part of the return on offer to the Packers.
