White House cocaine mystery deepens: Secret Service says it was in the West Wing and NOT in the library

The White House was embroiled in a scandal during President Joe Biden’s July 4th celebrations when the Secret Service searched for whoever was responsible for the cocaine deposit in the West Wing.

Hunter Biden was among the first family members at 1600 Pennsylvania to attend the celebrations, just hours after a white powder that sparked a hazmat situation was confirmed to contain traces of the illegal drug.

The White House has remained silent on Sunday night’s shocking discovery, which forced an evacuation while the president was at Camp David with his recovering drug-addicted son, Hunter.

The mystery surrounding the cocaine also deepened Tuesday afternoon when Secret Service officials said it was found in the West Wing — an area used by members of the Biden administration, White House staffers and hundreds of journalists.

Radio reports from the DC Fire Department verified by suggested the substance had been found in the library two floors below the White House private residence – and was part of the public tour.

However, confusion arose as to where the illegal substance was found. A statement from the Washington Fire Department clearly states that the powder is to be “bagged” in the “library” — but a Secret Service source told that the cocaine was in a “West Wing work area” rather than in the found at the boss’ mansion

The West Wing, where officials say the cocaine was discovered, is the White House’s center of activity.

It includes the Oval Office, offices for the President’s senior staff, the Cabinet Room, the Roosevelt Room, and the Press Conference Room, where dozens of members of the White House press corps gather for work each day.

White House officials, both professional and political, pass through the West Wing daily.

The sheer numbers of people in this room on a daily basis range from the President’s closest advisers to housekeeping and maintenance staff.

After initial reports that the white powder substance was found in the library and confirmed to be cocaine, trolls began speculating that President Biden’s drug-addicted son, Hunter Biden, was the source of the illegal drug that made its way into the White House.

However, the White House Library is located in the President’s residence and is part of the tour that the public regularly walks through. It is also two stories below the living quarters of the first family.

The Biden family returned to the White House for Independence Day celebrations Tuesday morning as the Secret Service continued its investigation.

Joe and Jill were accompanied by son Hunter, his wife Melissa and three-year-old son Beau. The President’s son donned a black baseball cap with an American flag sewn on to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Hunter was later spotted out on the South Lawn where the celebrations had started.

He was wearing jeans, brown loafers, a white button-down shirt and a suit jacket.

Ms. Melissa wore a striped summer dress.

A dispatch appeal reviewed by revealed a preliminary test showed the white powder tested positive for cocaine – prompting an evacuation of White House premises on Sunday night.

The discovery came two days after Hunter, 52, was last seen at the White House driving with his father to Camp David for the long Bank Holiday weekend.

A mystery arose as to who brought cocaine into the White House, and the Secret Service is still investigating and has sent the substance for further testing.

Celebrities who used illegal drugs in the White House

Snoop Dog: The rapper, known for his love and frequent use of ganja, said in July 2014 that he smoked weed in a White House bathroom the year before.

Willie Nelson: The musician said he rolled and smoked a joint on the roof of the White House when Jimmy Carter was president. He said he should have been afraid of getting caught, but wasn’t at the time.

Gary McLain: The former Villanova college basketball player said he was “addicted to cocaine” when he met President Ronald Reagan in the Rose Garden after his team won the NCAA title. McLain wrote in Sports Illustrated more than a decade ago, “The cocaine made me float in my own private world…I stood a few feet behind me.” [Reagan], looked at his hair and thought… Thoughts like, I could pop him in the head with just a little tap and make headlines around the world. “I was that high.”

Erkan Mustafa: The British actor smoked weed at the White House while visiting the US to promote then First Lady Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” initiative. Mustafa claimed in a 1998 report that he and others from the hit British TV show Grange Hill smoked marijuana and hit cocaine in the White House when they were flown to DC to work for the anti-drug campaign advertise.

Honorable Mention – Grace Slick: The musician and painter attempted to acidify Richard Nixon’s tea, but failed. In a 2011 interview, she explained that she had been invited to the White House by First Lady Tricia Nixon and intended to make him tea, but was not allowed on the premises due to a mix-up with her last name.

A Secret Service statement confirms the cocaine was found in a “work area” and not in the library.

“On Sunday evening, the White House complex was closed as a precautionary measure when officers from the Secret Service’s Uniformed Division examined an unidentified item found in a work area,” the USSS statement said.

“The DC Fire Department was called to assess and quickly determined the item was non-hazardous,” it said. “The item has been sent for further investigation and an investigation into the cause and manner of getting into the White House is pending.”

When the substance was discovered on Sunday, President Joe Biden was not at the president’s mansion as he was still at Camp David with his family.

Authorities are investigating how the cocaine got into the White House.

Pro-Trump Republican Rep. Jim Banks tweeted, “They never found cocaine in Trump’s White House!”

“The Bidens are unfit to live in the White House!” He posted a link to a story about the cocaine found in the mansion in a follow-up tweet.

Meanwhile, during a report on the cocaine find, far-right Newsmax anchor Robb Schmitt said: “It wouldn’t be a great Fourth of July weekend without Hunter Biden tearing lines off a bust of Teddy Roosevelt.”

“Cocaine was found in the White House and Hunter Biden is currently residing in the White House.” The FBI has no idea who owns it. Does anyone want to help you?’ wrote a Twitter journalist with almost 200,000 followers.

A uniformed member of the USSS found the white powder substance during a routine tour of the White House.

The discovery of the illegal drug prompted a brief evacuation of the White House.

The DC firefighting team that responded to the call determined the substance posed no danger – and a recorded message from the fire department confirmed tests were for cocaine.

“We have a yellow bar that says cocaine hydrochloride,” a firefighter with the DC Hazardous Materials Division radioed at 8:49 a.m. Sunday, according to the Post.

“Pack it up and take it out,” the fireman ordered.

Some Republicans on Twitter are questioning whether the cocaine really came from Hunter — citing possible other sources.

“I’m not ruling out possible members of the White House press,” conservative radio host Mark Levin tweeted in response to the cocaine find.

Matt Wallace, who has 1.1 million followers, claimed, “The cocaine found in the White House was not Hunter Biden.”

“The real story is actually much worse!” Many of Joe Biden’s top associates use cocaine and other hardcore drugs on a regular basis. The cleaners are tasked with covering up all tracks, but this weekend was particularly bad!’

The President and his son claim he has overcome his addiction.

Most recently, the younger Biden reached a settlement with Justice Department prosecutors to avoid jail time after he lied on a federal firearm purchase form. He ticked a box and stated that he did not use or be addicted to any illegal substances – a fact that would bar him from purchasing the gun.

The form contradicts the timelines and claims in Hunter Biden’s own memoir.

Biden critics and conservatives slammed Hunter’s deal, claiming that anyone other than the president’s son would face jail time for the same offense.

The deal also saw Hunter plead guilty to two tax offenses.
