White Sox shooting: Two people are shot dead at Guaranteed Rate Field as Chicago officials are forced to cancel Vanilla Ice’s post-game concert
Two fans were shot dead at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday night as the White Sox played the Athletics, police confirmed.
According to the audio of Chicago 16th and 17th Precinct Police Scanners on TwitterOne victim suffered a graze on the stomach and another victim was shot in the leg.
A third victim was unharmed.
Police later confirmed a “shooting incident” at the stadium reported by CBS News Charlie De Mar from Chicago.
According to Chicago Police Scanner audio, the bloodshed occurred in Section 162.
The game ended with the White Sox losing 12-4.
However, a postgame concert with rapper Vanilla Ice was canceled due to “technical problems”, according to a News on the stadium video board.
A fan named Tom Miller told ABC Chicago that he was sitting two rows behind where the shooting took place.
Miller said security forces escorted him and others into section six for about 45 minutes.
