Whitney Port says comments about her weight loss made her ‘blood boil’: ‘I’m so tired of other people having an opinion about how I look.’

Whitney Port shared that people’s comments about her weight made her blood boil and prompted her to open up about her weight loss earlier this year.

The 38-year-old reality star revealed in a candid new interview with Us Weekly that she asked people to stop commenting on her body after seeing negative comments on her Instagram.

She added that she was “so tired of other people having an opinion about my appearance when they know nothing” and that her husband Tim Rosenman encouraged her to “educate” the issue.

“I started seeing all the comments [an Instagram] Post I wrote and Timmy said, “Maybe this is something you want to clarify.”

“I appreciate the concerns that were real. It’s about the judgment of ‘eat a burger’ or ‘if you gain 20 pounds you might actually get pregnant,’ those things are so unnecessary,” she explained.

Port, who shares six-year-old son Sonny with husband Tim, has been going through a stressful time trying to conceive a second child after multiple miscarriages and previously revealed the couple were considering surrogacy.

Later in the interview, the star – who has previously said she doesn’t believe she has an eating disorder – recalled the moment she decided to take to Instagram to ask people not to comment on her body.

“I was alone in my hotel room [during New York Fashion Week], and I saw that there were a lot of comments on a particular post. So I’m like, let’s see what happens here, and honestly, it made my blood boil.

“I’m so tired of other people having an opinion about how I look when they don’t know anything.” So I thought, “I have to say something. I have enough.”

Port stated that although she doesn’t feel “well” yet, she is “taking care of herself.”

“I don’t feel great yet, but I’m taking responsibility and this empowerment will help with that eventually.”

“Right now I’m in the phase where I’m taking care of myself, not getting too carried away and just doing things that give me creative outlets,” she shared.

Whitney also shared that the concerns of the people in her life caused her to question her relationship with food.

“I can’t turn a blind eye to my best friend or my best sisters. I didn’t think about food as a priority, water as a priority, or sleep as a priority. “I need to take my diet more seriously.”

The mother-of-one admitted that being in the spotlight is a pursuit of perfection and that she compared herself to her co-stars while filming The Hills.

“I saw myself on screen and thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m so much taller than all the other girls on the show.’ I think it was the first thing that influenced my relationship with food.”

Port further explained that she was later able to “maintain” her weight at a healthy level, but that “things from the last year caught up with me.”

Whitney revealed that she has taken steps to address her weight issues by visiting a nutritionist, but shared that her issues are “entirely environmental” and that she has struggled with depression on and off since her father’s death.

“I lost my father 10 years ago. I was on an infertility journey for five years and there was just so much sadness and loss. Sometimes you deny these things because you don’t want to look at them. “I didn’t even know it was affecting my physical health in this way.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Port spoke about her experience with pregnancy loss and how her husband Tim comforted her by saying, “It’s not something your body did wrong.”

She shared that the pain of the loss “doesn’t just go away,” that she doesn’t “want to give up” on trying to have a second child, and that she thinks about it “every day.”

Port, who previously revealed that she and her husband are considering surrogacy, added that they are “exploring everything” but she isn’t ready to share the details of their plans just yet.

Whitney previously revealed that she had seen a nutritionist and it helped her feel validated by confirming that she probably did not have an eating disorder.

Instead, the nutritionist suspected that she was suffering from an “eating disorder” caused by neurovegetative depression.

Standing up for herself: Last month, Whitney called out her fans for making “nasty” comments about her weight loss on Instagram

Late last month, Whitney reprimanded her fans for leaving “nasty” comments about her weight loss in an Instagram post.

“I’m so overwhelmed by this conversation about how my body can function without me.” When I post certain pictures, it’s because I think the shot is cool. I knew my legs looked skinny on that post, but I also knew it was at an angle.

“Why do I even have to justify this?” “Instagram has always been a place of support for me, but the amount of comments about my body is frustrating,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories on a photo of Manhattan’s Central Park.

“When did it become my responsibility to look the way you expect me to look?” In order to look like the version of me that best fits your vision, I didn’t even want to bring up this trade-off discussion, and so did many of you make me regret it. “I want this to be a place where we CAN and SHOULD show concern and caring without threatening insubordination or ill-will,” she added.

The television personality rose to fame after being cast in the reality series “The Hills” in 2006. She was cast as one of four leads in the MTV show along with her friends Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Audrina Patridge.

The series aired for six seasons from 2006 to 2010.
