TLC star Whitney Way Thore reported that her mother, Babs, has died. Babs had been dealing with the aftermath of her stroke for some time.
Ever since Whitney Way Thore made her debut appearance on TLC, fans have instantly fallen in love with her mom, Babs. The family matriarch made so many viewers enjoy watching My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but it seems like the Thore family has been preparing for this moment for a while.
“Rest in peace sweet mommy. June 22, 1946 – December 7, 2022,” Whitney began her touching social media tribute to her late mother. “My mom died last night while the credits were rolling on her favorite movie. Dad, Hunter and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10:32 p.m., the exact time she brought me into this world almost forty years ago.”
She went on to explain a bit more about her mother’s health issues that ultimately led to her death. Although the family knew that Bab’s health would continue to deteriorate, they continued to love her and take care of her to the best of their ability.

“My mother is our family’s greatest gift. We could never love, adore, or appreciate another person more,” Whitney continued. “If you’re reading this, you’ll be familiar with her magic: her southern charm, hilarious sense of humor, well-timed witticisms, beauty, and her ability to make everyone around her feel comfortable and cared for. But what you cannot possibly fathom is the magnitude of my mother’s love — what you may have seen and felt through a TV screen is a tiny fraction that, even when multiplied by a million, doesn’t even come close to “real life.” . ‘ So great, so generous and all-encompassing was my mother’s love. I am the happiest person on the planet to have been hers for almost 39 years.”

The death of Babs will definitely shape the future of MBFFL. Fans know it just won’t be the same without her.
Fans extend their condolences to the family in times of need
Immediately, fans flooded the comments to offer their condolences to the Thore family. During Bab’s stay at an assisted living facility, Whitney shared progress updates with followers. The posts were always so positive and many hoped Babs would continue to improve. Whitney even encouraged fans to send cards to her mother at some point.
“Oh Whitney, my heart goes out to you. Your mother captured our hearts ♥️ Thank you for sharing with us and observing such a beautiful mother-daughter relationship. Rest in peace 🙏🏼,” wrote one follower.
“This breaks my heart. 😢 We love you so much Babs!! My love is with you Whitney and Glen and Hunter. Your memory will live forever in the hearts of so many people. ❤️,” added another.
