Swift Current Broncos head coach Devan Praught of the Western Junior League (WHL) lost his temper in practice and his punishment was exemplary.
General manager Chad Leslie announced Tuesday that the coach had been suspended indefinitely for “allegedly violating the league’s code of conduct during Monday’s practice.”

The Athletic obtained video of the incident at the Broncos’ arena and described it. Praught allegedly yelled and swore at 17-year-old defender Josh Fluker during a practice. He then confronted him on the bench and broke the young man’s stick.
Assistant coach Taras McEwen will take over driving duties during the suspension. WHL Security Network will conduct an investigation. Praught, 36, was hired in October 2021.
