Next Sunday, March 27th, the annual Oscar ceremony will take place.. On this occasion, among the nominees for the long-awaited golden statuette, there are a large number of Latin American artists as favorites in various categories, and given the opportunity to be awarded, the public expects congratulations for representing their compatriots abroad.

Together for the first time since their debut in the middle, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are nominated “Best Actress” and “Best actor”, two of each of the main prizes of the gala. Though both had been considered on previous occasions, word got around as they haven’t coincided since their wedding at the Academy Awards.

Penélope Cruz will be selected for her starring role in parallel mothers, a film directed by Pedro Almodóvar. The renowned actress will compete against other international stars: Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Taye), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos) and Kristen Stewart (Spencer).

The great role of Javier Bardem in Be the Ricardos it earned him another nomination in his career. The acclaimed 53-year-old actor will star with Benedict Cumberbatch (The Mighty Dog), Andrew Garfield (Tick, tick… Boom!), Will Smith (King Richard) and Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth).

Ariana DeBose hopes to raise the award “The best supporting actress” for his work in Westside Story. The actress is nominated in this category along with Jessie Buckley (The Lost Daughter), Judi Dench (West Side Story), Kirsten Dunst (The Power of The Dog) and Aunjanue Ellis (King Richard).

Although the actress was born on January 25, 1991 in North Carolina, USA, due to her maternal Puerto Rican descent, she considers herself a Hispanic representative. She is also credited as the first openly queer Afro-Latin woman to be considered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

nightmare alley which was released in Latin America under the name El alley of lost souls” is nominated for “Best movie‘ will compete against Belfast, CODA, Don’t look up, Drive My Car, Dune, King Richard, Licorice Pizza, The Power of the Dog Dog) and West Side Story.

That is also taken into account “Best Photography” where he will compete for the statuette with Dune, The Power of the Dog, The Tragegy of Macbeth and West Side Story. this time William of the Bull was not rated as “Best Director”, but his film was able to win two Oscars.

Eugenio Derbez is another Mexican who was nominated in a way thanks KODA It is considered in three categories: Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor. Although his name didn’t appear, it marks a big step in his acting career outside of comedy.

Raya and the last dragon is nominated for “Best Animated Feature” Next charm by Jared Bush, Byron Howard (Disney), flee Jonas Poher Rasmussen (Final Cut for Real/NEON); Luke by Enrico Casarosa (Pixar/Disney) and The Mitchells vs. The Machines by Mike Rianda (Sony/Netflix).

The work was led by Carlos EstradaSon of renowned Mexican television producer Karla Estada, it was his first Oscar nomination.

In the musical field, the work of the renowned composer Lin Manuel Miranda at charm could get you an award. The Disney film is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Soundtrack two caterpillarsMain theme performed by Sebastian Jatra.
