According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip no longer works after being invaded by Israeli troops. “As far as we know, it is no longer operational,” WHO representative for the Gaza Strip, Richard Peeperkorn, told Portal. “We cannot afford to lose hospitals.”
Two newborns were sent home with instructions on how to care for them, while other patients, including young children, were evacuated to Al-Ahli and Al-Shifa hospitals.
Several health professionals were reportedly arrested. According to authorities in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces used a bulldozer to break through the fence at Kamal Adwan Hospital last week and evict people. Israel says the hospital is being used by Hamas militants.
