Fabián Bustos now has extensive experience as a coach in this part of the continent. His career began in Ecuador, where he managed lower-class clubs such as Manta, Deportivo Quito, Macará, Imbabura and Delfín. But from the 2020 season he took the big leap to Barcelona SC, one of the most representative teams in the country.
After a few seasons, he thought he was ready to try his hand at another league. For this reason, he traveled to Brazil in 2022 to sign with Santos. However, the results were not with him and he returned to Ecuador to manage FC Barcelona again.

Fabián Bustos' odyssey in Ecuador was positive despite the bad times he experienced in Brazil. With Delfín he became champions in 2015 and achieved promotion to the first division. Four years later he won Serie A again with the same team.
The Argentine strategist also became champions with Ídolo in the 2020 season. He also reached a semi-final of the Copa Libertadores in 2021. Finally, he was voted Ecuador's best coach two times in a row: 2019 and 2020.
