The latter has kept the secret of his victory a secret since returning to the country in late March last year. Nobody knew. I didn’t tell my parents and my friends. “My friend didn’t know,” he said, laughing.

At the age of 25, Nicolas Brunette studied at the École Polyvalente Le Carrefour and then at the Cégep de Gatineau. He previously worked as a communications and marketing agent for a non-profit organization. He is preparing for new professional adventures as he will move to Montreal with his wife in July. Nicolas Brunette clarifies a decision already made before he took part in the show.

The joy of playing

The winner of Survivor Quebec mentioned that he learned a lot in this adventure: making fire and fishing, being satisfied with a minimum daily portion of rice to survive, but also abandoning given strategies to better adapt to the game and Making connections with the incredible cast of participants in this first Quebec version.

In preparation, the young adventurer watched several seasons of Survivor. I looked at different strategies, different approaches to the game, what worked, he confided.

Eliminated halfway, however, Nicolas Brunette was able to continue the adventure on the Island of Salvation. After 15 days of suspension and four challenges won, he was able to compete again. This feat also earned him the nickname “King of Salvation,” bestowed on another Gatineau resident, the show’s host Patrice Bélanger.

The rest of the adventure took him to Sunday’s final. As he himself admits, Nicolas Brunette was not the sportiest participant, but was able to win the competition with strategy.

Among Survivor Quebec’s 20 candidates, he was one of five contestants from Gatineau and Chelsea.

A second season of Survivor Quebec has already been announced for 2024. Patrice Bélanger will moderate it again.
