The Dominican model and athlete, Maria Victoria Bayo Martinez, was crowned the new Miss World Dominican Republic 2023 in an act at the Julio Alberto Hernández Hall of the Gran Teatro del Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros.
María Victoria has a degree in Business Administration, mentioned in International Business and speaks fluent English, he also has extensive sporting experience and has won countless medals and trophies in athletics, soccer, volleyball and golf. Her training as a professional model went hand in hand with one of the great icons of fashion and beauty, the great Socrates Mackinne.
The President of the competition and Dominican fashion designer, Diana Motadeclared during the coronation that after the great successes of 2022, in which all the queens of the Miss Mundo Dominicana organization reached the most important positions and international titles, this year 2023 Miss Mundo Dominicana will crown two queens.
“Following last year’s success the commitment is even greater and to continue like this the lead time in a queen is essential. For this reason, María Victoria was appointed after an extensive and internally evaluated selection of experts from the world of beauty,” Mota pointed out.
María Victoria will attend Miss World 2023, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates at the end of the yearwhile in September, Miss World Dominican will be held at the Barceló Grand Resort in Punta Cana, where the sovereign who will represent the country at Miss World 2024 will be selected.
“In this way we will have plenty of time that will allow us to work hard a year in advance to achieve the results that our country deserves. The crowning of María Victoria as the new Dominican Miss World looks set to be a sure success. She is a girl with an admirable career and with all the qualities to bring the second Miss World crown to the Dominican Republic,” affirmed the director.

The new beauty sovereign is important in sport as she has managed to be part of the Santiago Oeste volleyball teams and the Santiago de los Caballeros team, representing her city in several sporting events at national level.
“I am very excited and grateful for the trust they have placed in me and for the opportunity to take on this great challenge, which I accept with great enthusiasm, determination and pride. It is a true honor for me to represent the values, joy and beauty of our country. I will certainly do my best to bring the long-awaited second world title to the Dominican Republic,” said María Victoria.
Her simplicity, resourcefulness and social sensitivity motivated her in 2019 to create and promote her social project “Education through Sport” benefiting hundreds of low-income children and youth through motivational workshops and sports practices touring throughout Cibao to bring beauty with them Purpose to be the one that runs the model.
In a night full of emotions, important honors and special moments and an emotional farewell outgoing Queen Emmy Peña and their invaluable work in favor of children and young people with Down Syndrome, the Association of Friends with Down Syndrome hosted a special moment attended by 15 children to thank them for their invaluable work.
The Coronation Night Miss World Dominican 2023was attended by singer and violinist Genesis Céspedes, former participant of The Voice Dominicana and who has starred in a special tribute to the social work of the Miss World organization in recent years.
There was also the artistic participation of a dance group directed and costumed by Alex Saviñón, show and choreography by Richard Sosa. The event was hosted by actress, former Miss Mundo Dominicana and Miss World Caribbean 2016, Yaritza Reyes, directed by Pablo Pérez, visual work by Pedro Burgos and graphic line by Jay Aponte.

Among the achievements of the organization in 2022, it is recalled that Emmy Pena, current Miss World Dominican Republic, was crowned Miss World Caribbean, and Celinee Santos, current Miss International Dominican Republic, reached the position of 4th finalist in Miss World 2022 Miss International 2022 in front of 85 candidates and Mariona Juncosa Ramírez, Miss Teen World Rep. Dom, won the Miss Teen World 2022 international title.
