Jeffrey Dahmer, the notorious cannibal serial killer who is the focus of the current Top 1 Netflix series, was actually beaten to death in prison in November 1994. His killer’s name is Christopher Scarver. According to Scarver, he was angered by Dahmer’s provocations while in prison.

In an interview with the New York Post in 2015, Scarver explained that he committed the murder because Jeffrey Dahmer’s eyes seemed unrepentant about the crimes he had committed:
He crossed the border with some people prisoners, prison staff. Some people who are in prison feel sorry, but Dahmer wasn’t one of them.
In the same interview, Scarver recalled Dahmer using packets of ketchup to simulate victims’ blood and molding prison food into the shapes of body parts.
Regarding Scarver’s allegations, Dahmer’s attorney, Gerald Boyle, claimed that insults and provocations were not his client’s “style”:
He killed people, but he didn’t offend people. I never saw him do anything that would lead me to believe he was replicating the deaths he caused.

Christopher Scarver was sentenced to life in prison for the 1990 murder of Steven Lohman.
Before that he was a laborer for the Wisconsin Conservation Corps. According to press reports, after his release he started drinking and heard voices calling him “the chosen one”.
Scarver then returned to the company and demanded money from the manager (Lohman) and shot him three times after receiving $15.
In 2003, Scarver was transferred to another prison facility in Colorado along with other inmates who had been diagnosed with a mental illness. The transfer was the result of a class action lawsuit by other detainees.
Scarver remains in prison and is currently writing poetry, musical compositions and has even written a book called The Child Left Behind (2015).
