The World Health Organization (WHO) said this Tuesday that to date 490,000,000 people worldwide have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, in addition to just over 6,150,000 deaths from the disease.

Figures presented by the multilateral body showed that the United States (USA) remains the country with the highest number of infections from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, with 79.4 million people affected by the disease.
They are followed in the statistics by India with 43 million; Brazil with 29.9 million; France with 25.2 million; Germany with 21.8 million; Great Britain with 21.3 million and Russia with 17.9 million.
The WHO found that as of April 3, a total of 11 billion doses of anti-Covid vaccines had been administered worldwide.
The Americas recorded a total of 150,965,019 confirmed cases of Covid-19, Europe reports a total of 204,627,961 coronavirus infections, while Africa has registered 8,602,137 patients with Covid-19 since the pandemic began on the continent.
WHO reported a total of 57,249,373 positive cases in Southeast Asia, 47,806,518 in the Western Pacific and 21,601,357 in the Eastern Mediterranean.
