WHO warns of greater transmissibility of the new variant of Covid-19
The World Health Organization (WHO) this Friday reported detection of a new variant of Ómicron called XE, which so far may have greater transmissibility than the rest of the SARS-CoV-2 mutations that cause Covid-19. According to the health agency, the XE mutation was first reported in the UK on January 19 and currently has more than 600 sequences.
“The WHO continues to closely monitor and assess the public health risk associated with recombinant variants, along with other SARS-CoV-2 variants,” he reported. In this regard, he explained that XE is a mutation in the Ómicron Variant of Covid-19 is 19, while clinical studies do not record differences in transmission and characteristics of the pandemic.
They denounce the 30th massacre in Colombia in 2022
The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) this Friday denounced two new massacres in Colombia, a total of 30 this year. Russia is ready to give security guarantees to Ukraine and Europe
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that his country is ready to offer security guarantees to Ukraine and European countries. After meeting his Indian counterpart Subramanyan Jaishankar, the Russian foreign minister said at a press conference: “We are in favor of giving security guarantees to Ukraine and all European countries.”

Mexico City eliminates mandatory use of a mask outdoors
The Mexico City government reported this Friday that the use of the hygienic mask outdoors will be voluntary, but in spaces without large capacity and while respecting physical distancing. Venezuela supports the adoption of a resolution against coercive measures at the UN
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia expressed this Friday that his country supports the adoption of the resolution on the effects of unilateral coercive measures (UCM) tabled by the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) before the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council. The resolution presented by NAM highlighted the “negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights”.
During the 49th session of the Council, the Venezuelan diplomat stressed that the resolution was adopted by a large majority. The measure was supported with 27 votes in favour, 14 against and six abstentions.
