(CNN Spanish) — Moon Bin, the member of K-pop band Astro who was found dead at his Seoul home on Wednesday night, began his career in the entertainment industry as a child as an actor on the television drama Boys Over Flowers. .
Moon Bin is best known for being a member of the K-pop band ASTRO, where he made his debut in 2016. The other members of the group are Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo, and Yoon San-ha.
The most popular songs by the band ASTRO are All Night (29 million views on YouTube), Crazy Sexy Cool (33 million views) and the song Candy Sugar Pop in particular stands out with more than 41 million views.
He also performed as part of a sub-group called Moon Bin & Sanha, which has been touring Asia for the past few months.
Before his death, the duo was scheduled to perform in Busan next month as part of the port city’s bid for the 2030 World’s Fair and in Jakarta on May 13.
Moon Bin entered the entertainment industry as a child actor, making his debut in the 2009 Korean Broadcasting System TV drama Boys Over Flowers, playing the younger version of the character Kim Boom. Police believe Moon Bin committed suicide
South Korean police believe Moon Bin took his own life, they told CNN on Thursday.
“Moon is said to have taken his own life and no evidence of foul play has been found in connection with this case,” authorities confirmed by phone.
The star was found dead by her manager at her home in south Seoul around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to an officer at the Gangnam Police Station.
