Why doesn’t the new Universitario kit have more cherry or red detailing like years ago?

Universitario de Deportes presented their new home kit for the 2023 season this Friday, January 6, and at first glance the big changes they presented for this year were striking. Jean Ferrari, at ‘Puma’ Carranza’s company, and marketing director, Daniel Amador, revealed that the new attire for the ‘U’ will be all cream. For this occasion, details like the cherry red and red colors have been left aside and the reason explained.

It was Daniel Amador, Universitario’s Marketing Manager, who spoke and gave details about the new design of the “Mica” of the “U”.

“The stripes on the current shirt are similar to the ones we had on the shirt at Universitario in the early 1990s, when everyone at the club was very happy,” he said.

Jean Ferrari’s statements about the new Universitario kit went viral

“It is an important moment for us to present our skin here. The cream color chose us. The club’s kit was originally white, but for a reason it faded. It is decided to have it in cream because the color chose us. I’m proud to present this beautiful shirt because we were part of its creation,” he explained.
