Countries that offer this benefit include Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. However, there is one country in the region that requires a visa to enter its territory. It's about Venezuela.
It is important to highlight that good diplomatic relations exist between Peru and Venezuela. An example of this is that our country has experienced a significant wave of migration in recent years Venezuelan citizens, motivated mainly by the economic, political and social crisis caused by its president Nicolas Maduro. Since around 2015, thousands of Venezuelans have crossed borders in search of better opportunities and a more stable quality of life.

Why does Venezuela require a visa for Peruvians?
This measure, which came into force on July 15, 2019, is in line with the principle of reciprocity that the Venezuelan government applied in response to the decision of the then President Martín Vizcarra to require all citizens of the said country who request a visa and one Passport required to enter the national territory. The aim of this provision, as it was said at the time, was to ensure orderly migration.
