The error lies in the new RAI rule, which prohibits singers participating in the 2024 Sanremo festival from being guests in programs that include their performances.
What happened to Mahmood? Due to Rai’s new Sanremo regulation, the guests of Che tempo che fa disappeared. The singer – three-time winner of the festival, once among the young and twice among the greats (the second together with Blanco) – was supposed to be one of the guests of Fabio Fazio’s show in Nove.
A presence was announced in recent days and skipped a few hours after broadcast. The singer was actually chosen by Amadeus to take to the stage at the next Sanremo festival and as Fazio himself revealed live, the record company informed us this morning (Sunday) that he would not be coming as he is going to Sanremo. The error lies in the new RAI rule, which prohibits singers participating in the 2024 Sanremo festival from being guests in programs that include their performances.
This is not the only innovation in the regulation. A further adjustment stipulates that the winner of Sanremo 2024 will not be able to take part in television programs on channels other than Rai up to and including February 13, 2024. Therefore, all programs not taking place on Viale Mazzini will only be able to welcome the winner from Wednesday 14th (the festival finale will take place on Saturday 10th). In this case, Fazio has to wait until February 18th. This is another rule they made this morning. “We always had the winner of Sanremo,” continued Fazio. But we still have fun.
