Why millions of men can’t do this ONE simple two-step arm movement – but all women can
- One couple claims that women can perform a “simple” arm movement, but men can’t
- The trick is to bring your forearms together and then straighten your elbows
- TikToker Jemmi easily demonstrated the move, but her friend struggled
- The now viral TikTok video caused a stir on the internet, among other things
One couple demonstrated a “simple” arm movement, claiming that women can do the trick perfectly every time, but men can’t.
In a now-viral TikTok video seen by millions, San Diego’s Jemmi performs the move by folding her forearms in front of her face and then slowly lowering them.
Beside her, Jemmi’s friend Russ also tries the same move but struggles and is left with a gap between his arms.

To complete the movement, make sure both forearms are touching even after the elbows have straightened.
The main difference between Jemmi’s and Russ’ arm movement was the fact that Russ had a gap between his forearms and Jemmi didn’t.
It is understood that most men cannot perform the movement due to different anatomy.
According to the Institute of Human Anatomy, women’s elbows, shoulders and joints are shaped differently than men’s, making it easier for a woman to bend her arms a little further.
Women have narrower shoulders and wider hips, so the “carrying angle” of the elbow and forearm is smaller to allow for effortless “hip-baring” while walking.
Why can women perform the arm movement but men cannot?
Men and women have differences in biological anatomy.
Women’s elbows and shoulders are slightly different from men’s, so it’s usually fine to bend your arms a little more.
The joints of a woman’s elbow seem to protrude a little more when the arms are straight.
This is believed to be the reason why most men have difficulty performing the arm movement.

The clip has since been viewed more than 2.1 million times and sparked debate, among other things, as some men said they could actually perform the arm movement.
“I can’t do this, I’m a girl,” one woman wrote, and a man added, “I guess I’m a girl, I’m a boy and I can do this.”
Another man added: “I can but I’m really skinny which is probably why.”
While some men said they could do the move, others felt it was “impossible” and “too difficult.”
Earlier this year, a competing couple was hysterical after trying a “simple” TikTok challenge that women find easy but men can’t handle.
Earlier this year, star personal trainer Josef Rakich, 31, and his wife Maryam Matti, 33, both attempted to step over a broomstick while holding it close to the ground – with hilarious results
Celebrity personal trainer Josef Rakich, 31, and his wife Maryam Matti, 33, both attempted to step over a broomstick while holding it low to the ground – with hilarious results.
As Maryam gracefully stepped over the bar, Joseph’s feet seemed to be glued to the floor.
Finally raising his left foot, he lost his balance before giggling and failing the challenge and sharing the video with his 775,000 followers.
“At least I can p*ss standing up,” the famous New Zealand personal trainer commented on the video.
Before his wife hit back with a passive-aggressive joke of her own: “At least I can actually get my dirty laundry in the basket and not next to it.”
The couple’s attempts to rise to the challenge quickly went viral and wowed their fans.
