With a shortage of authors for the nine o’clock slot, Globo is reevaluating old synopses from novelists who have already left the channel. This is the case of Aguinaldo Silva, who was fired in 2020 after more than 40 years of exclusive employment. Globo’s dramaturgy department is studying the possibility of releasing Três Graças, a nine o’clock soap opera that was performed before his dismissal.
“I haven’t spoken to Globo in two years and I can guarantee you that Globo hasn’t spoken to me in two years,” Aguinaldo said in an interview with TV news.
Aguinaldo was previously the channel’s sole author and left the rights to the synopses he wrote and delivered to Globo, his employer. “There are some synopses that I delivered during my 41year contract that, although not contractually produced, became the property of the broadcaster,” he tells the website.
Three Graces tells the story of a family consisting of a grandmother, mother and granddaughter who became pregnant as teenagers and had to raise their children alone. “I have not yet been contacted about this,” confirms the author.
He goes on to explain that any other author could use the text of a synopsis that he created during his time as an employee of Globo: “We have the example of Vale Tudo.” [1988], a novel of which I am the author and the remake of which is being written by another author. Although Globo has not officially confirmed the production of the series for which Manuela Dias would be responsible the playwright recently said on his social networks that Cris Vianna would be the perfect actress to play the protagonist played by Regina Duarte in 1988.
“I heard that Globo is looking for an actress of African descent to play Raquel, Regina Duarte’s character in Vale Tudo. But I ask: Why look when they already have Cris Vianna?” he asked on Twitter.
In another publication, the author pointed out that Nany People would be a good name for the role of Odete Roitman, the legendary villain immortalized by Beatriz Segall (19262018). The comedian even responded positively to Silva’s suggestion.
