Three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis may be coming out of retirement after seven years. The actor was spotted leaving a meeting with Steven Spielberg and Jim Sheridan.
The 66-year-old actor, one of only three actors in history to win three acting Oscars, was spotted leaving a meeting with Spielberg and Sheridan in New York City on Wednesday.
The actor announced his retirement in 2017, but he did not want to give an exact reason for his resignation.
Day-Lewis received his first Oscar under Sheridan's direction in 1989's “My Left Foot,” his second for Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 film “There Will Be Blood,” and Spielberg directed him to his third Oscar in 2012's “Lincoln “.
There's no indication of what exactly the meeting was about, although both filmmakers have a number of projects in the works.

Day-Lewis was seen leaving the meeting while wearing a tan jacket and blue shirt, as well as a black cap and glasses.
He also wore matching brown pants and brown boots for the meeting, which took place at Spielberg's office in New York City.
Spielberg wore a dark blue sweater with a matching baseball cap and puffer coat.
For the meeting with Day-Lewis and Sheridan, he completed his look with dark blue jeans and light blue sneakers.
Sheridan also rocked an all-dark blue look with a sweater, trench coat and pants, along with black shoes.
Spielberg has a few projects in development that may be projects Day-Lewis is set to star in.
Spielberg is set to direct an untitled biopic based on the character Steve McQueen played in the 1968 classic Bullitt, although Bradley Cooper is set to star as McQueen.
He is also developing “The Thursday Murder Club,” which follows four friends who live in a retirement community and all solve cold cases for fun.

It's possible that he'll be looking to come out of retirement for this project – which ironically revolves around characters in retirement – although this hasn't been confirmed yet.
As for Sheridan, he signed on to write and direct I Am a Man: The True Story of Chief Standing Bear in April.
The film follows the “Trail of Tears” march that led to the landmark Standing Bear v. United States trial in 1879
