MEXICO CITY, MEXICO.- Danna Paolathe renowned Mexican artist, has attracted the attention of social networks after the interpretation of the Mexican national anthem -Before the Battle between the boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez And Jermell Charlo in a very special way.
The criticism focused primarily on the possible violation of the national shield, flag and national anthem law.
The musician Iván Cano Capetillo pointed out on social networks that the national anthem of Mexico must be sung in a “warlike” tone, highlighting the first beat, after which “the national anthem must be sung in a belligerent” tone. It’s a 2/4 time signature that’s meant to emphasize the first beat.”
The above law expressly prohibits altering both the lyrics and music of the anthem or interpreting them with compositions or arrangements that differ from the originals.
Although many praised her performance, some comments on the networks argue that the singer’s performance may not have met legal guidelines. The above could have possible implications for the artist.
How much would the singer be punished?
The Law on the Shield, Flag and National Anthem states that in the event of changing the lyrics or music of the Mexican national anthem or its interpretation for profit, the person may be subject to one of the following sanctions:
-Warning with warning.
-Fine up to ten thousand times the value of the Measurement and Update Unit (UMA) at the time the violation was committed.
-Additional fine to that provided for in the previous paragraph up to ten thousand times the value of the measurement and updating unit for each day that the violation continues.
-Arrest for up to thirty-six hours.
According to INEGI, the value of the current Daily Measurement and Update Unit (UMA) is 103.74 Mexican pesos. So if she receives the fine, Danna Paola would have to pay 1,037,400 Mexican pesos.

After her performance, Danna Paola shared her experience on her social networks and revealed that by singing the anthem she had overcome one of her biggest fears.
“Last night I conquered one of my biggest fears, I learned a great lesson and I never thought the time would come to sing the Mexican national anthem, and the time has come,” he wrote.
The artist admitted that she had rejected previous offers to sing the anthem out of fear of criticism or mistakes.
But now the consequences could come. So far, the singer has not commented on the allegations and possibilities. Likewise, the relevant authorities have not issued a statement confirming that there will be any type of sanction.
