Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were spotted out and about together for the first time since Will slammed Chris Rock for a joke at Jada’s expense during the 2022 Academy Awards.
The couple, who appeared to be in good spirits, were snapped by photographers in Malibu near celebrity hotspot Nobu on Saturday as they walked hand-in-hand while Will waved to onlookers.
The Oscar winner wore a black hat, navy polo shirt and matching pants for the outing, and completed the look with a fresh pair of white Air Force Ones. Jada also rocked sneakers with her all-black ensemble, tied a flannel shirt around her waist and finished her look with delicate jewelry and a pair of sunglasses.
The sighting comes weeks after Will released his final apology for hitting Rock during the ceremony over a “GI Jane” joke the comic told regarding Jada, who suffers from alopecia.

“I reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to speak, but when he is he will get in touch,” Smith said in the video posted to YouTube. “I’ll tell you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
Addressing the moment during a June episode of her Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, Jada said she wishes “these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, to speak out, and to make up .

“The state of the world today, we need them both,” she continued. “And we all actually need each other more than ever. Until then, Will and I will continue to do what we’ve been doing for the past 28 years, which is keep figuring out what’s called life. Thank you for listening.”

As for rock, the stand-up has only talked about it on stage during recent gigs, including comparing Smith to former Death Row Records exec and notorious hothead Suge Knight.
“Everyone tries to be a victim,” Rock, 57, said during a performance at Atlanta’s Fox Theater. “If everyone claims to be a victim, then no one will hear the real victims. Even I was beaten by Suge Smith… I went to work the next day, I had kids.
“Someone who says words hurt has never been slapped in the face,” Rock added.
