Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, a recent Netflix phenomenon, is living proof that wellcrafted intellectual property can work very well in any medium and in any type of language. A mix of inspirations based on the comics by Bryan Lee O’Malley and the film by Edgar Wright, the series has received extremely positive reviews.

The plot initially follows young Scott Pilgrim’s journey to defeat the exboyfriends of Ramona Flowers, the girl he is in love with, so that he can date the young woman in peace. Across eight episodes, the production features the entire original voice cast.
After subverting the story the audience already knows and thinking not only about the comics and feature films but also the game, there’s a small hook at the end of the final episode that could hint at new stories in the future. However, according to the character’s creator, the public shouldn’t have high hopes.
“At the moment it is selfcontained. We love what we did. We put everything into it. We don’t have any ideas that are lying on the ground. We pretty much put them all in,” O’Malley told Rolling Stone in an interview after being asked about a possible Season 2.
“I never say never, but right now it seems like it would take about 50 different miracles at the same time for another season to happen. So we’ll see,” explained the comic artist.…
