A French farmer had the original idea of asking for his lover’s hand in marriage by cutting his field to draw “Will You Marry Me?”
Julien Thelliez, from Crèvecœur-sur-l’Escaut, a municipality in the north, suggested his partner of eight years, Elodie Bureau, accompany him to the field where a surprise awaited him, France Live reported on Thursday, citing La Voix du Nord. .
“When we arrived at the field, a gentleman, a drone pilot, was waiting for us. He told me to look at the screen and when I did, I saw the message. I was moved, I didn’t expect it at all,” the future wife told the local newspaper.
In the field we see large, neatly cut capital letters forming the apostrophe: “Will you marry me?” to which Mrs. Bureau replied yes as her farmer showed off a gold ring.

The young farmer, sowing flowers in his two-hectare field, waited for everything to grow and prayed that the weather would not ruin his plans, which were ignored by everyone, including his partner, according to French media.
“Each letter is approximately 25 meters high and 15 to 25 meters wide. In total, the embassy is 180 meters long,” said Mr. Thelliez, stating that it took him two and a half days to complete this work using a tractor chipper and brush cutter.
