Rio Moderator of “Jornal Nacional”, since 1996 on TV Globo, William Bonner had to use social networks this Saturday (24th) to deny another rumour. Amid rumors of his resignation, the journalist revealed that he is indeed on vacation.

Bonner posted a text full of eyerolling emojis on Instagram. “After the lie that I decided to leave Globo, after the lie that Globo offered money to avoid this madeup exit, came the lie that Globo would celebrate my nonexistent retirement,” he began .

“The name of the inventor of lies circulated as if it were a reliable source, and his inventions provided clickmoney for several proliferating websites until another lucrative cycle for those supporting the disinformation ended. It’s not a new practice.”

“Last year, the same members of this panel announced virtually the same thing. They have been denied by me, by Globo and by the facts. For three weeks. Bottom up!”

Soon after, Bonner’s professional colleagues left comments on the post: “Enjoy your welldeserved vacation!” wrote journalist Mariana Gross. “Happy Holidays!” wished the journalist Ana Luíza Guimarães. “It’s a fight!” agreed journalist Tadeu Schmidt.

On Friday evening, at the end of the “Jornal Nacional”, both Bonner and Renata Vasconcellos announced that they were leaving the news program to enjoy the holidays: “Renata and I are going on vacation. Ana Paula Araújo and Heraldo Pereira will be on the bench here at Jornal Nacional until July 17. Until then, have a nice weekend,” said William Bonner. “Until then,” said Renata.
