Friend was struck by lightning Sunday near his home in Wilmington, North Carolina, according to an incident report from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office available to CNN.
“What made Will special was his innate ability to inspire and motivate people — to take people higher than they thought possible,” Gregg Mayer, Bisnow’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said in a statement. “That’s the culture he nurtured at Bisnow and that will ultimately be his enduring legacy.” Though Prince has not commented on the tragedy, her friend, actress Odette Annable, posted and wrote a message on her Instagram on Wednesday : “The unimaginable has happened and we have to say goodbye to another friend @britwilliam. My best friend @bevinaprince, beloved husband. Will, it feels surreal writing this. Mostly because it feels like you’ve only just started. The life and love you gave My best friend was okay with being thousands of miles apart. Sitting in your beautiful home and looking out to sea, I keep thinking about what a gift you gave Bevin. What a gift you gave to all who knew you will witness the passion that burned in your soul.” Officials said they tried to revive Friend for 20 minutes before he was pronounced dead, according to local news reports.
Prince is best known for her role as Bevin Mirskey on The CW’s hit series One Tree Hill.
The couple had been married since 2016. CNN has reached out to Prince’s reps for comment.
