Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle all attended the National Thanksgiving Service on Friday – but failed to sit next to each other.

The Duke (39) and Duchess of Cambridge (40) were seated on the right hand side of St Paul’s Cathedral upon their arrival.

The couple occupied the same bench as Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Across the aisle sat the Duke, 37, and Duchess of Sussex, 40, with Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and their respective husbands Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

California residents didn’t seem to interact with William and Middleton.

Palace insiders told Page Six on Thursday that Charles’ sons have no plans to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

“Right now it doesn’t look like Harry and Meghan and William and Kate will be meeting separately during the anniversary celebrations,” the source said. “I’m sure there’s nothing in the diary.”

The foursome’s last public appearance together was at Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Service in March 2020, three months after Harry and Markle announced their plans to step down from senior royal duties.

Days later, the duo moved to America. They now live in Montecito, California with son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 11 months, and officially stepped down from their royal roles in February 2021.

The family of four traveled to England together for the first time on Tuesday to honor the 96-year-old Queen’s 70 years of service.

Harry and Markle watched Trooping the Color from the Major General’s office, seemingly without their little ones. Archie and Lilibet were also absent from Friday’s service.

The monarch also missed the traditional anniversary event. After attending Trooping the Color Thursday, a royal spokeswoman released a statement announcing her imminent absence.

“The Queen thoroughly enjoyed today’s birthday parade and flypast but had some complaints,” the statement said.

“Considering the travel and activities required to attend tomorrow’s national Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty has concluded with great reluctance that she will not attend,” the spokesman continued.
