CHICOUTIMI | To say the saguenéens had a great night is an understatement. In addition to celebrating a former defender, the Saguenay team signed another win against the Shawinigan Cataractes on Friday.
The Sags went unbeaten against their Mauricie-region rivals this season, winning 6-4 in front of their home crowd. Yanick Jean’s men delighted Steve Gosselin, who saw his number 23 lifted to the level of the Center Georges-Vézina.

Good start
Fabrice Fortin ensured the Sags took the lead from his team’s first shot in less than two minutes of play.
Maxim Massé’s dream night began midway through the first period when he hit the back of the net for the first time in the game.
With two goals from three shots, the Blues made goalkeeper Giovacchino DiMattia look bad.
The latter was replaced by Rémi Delafontaine after less than 10 minutes of play. However, “Cats” head coach Daniel Renaud changed his two goalkeepers again in the third period.
