Windows 11 watermark on desktop
We talked about it and now it’s official. Microsoft decides to point the finger at Windows 11 PCs that don’t meet the minimum hardware requirements.
Many users fall victim to a certain message on the Windows 11 desktop. This is a notification in the form of a watermark, the same as when Windows is not activated. The bottom right corner of the screen shows that the PC does not meet the Windows 11 requirements. The message reads
“System requirements not met. Go to Settings to learn more »
It appeared after installing the latest cumulative updates. They were deployed on Patch Tuesday in February 2023.
Normally, the Windows installer is designed to prevent Windows 11 from being installed on PCs that do not meet the minimum system requirements, especially with regard to the TPM module. However, there are ways to bypass this hardware prerequisite check. The aim is to force installation on unsupported hardware.
Microsoft has decided to validate that Windows 11 is running on an eligible computer with a Patch Tuesday update. Otherwise a watermark will appear. The good news is that there is no impact on the functionality of the operating system. It seems to be working as expected.
